Global Social Compliance Programme > Public Statement of Support

Our businesses together touch millions of people either directly through our customers and employees or indirectly through hundreds of millions of workers in our supply chain.

We are aware of the challenges around human rights, social standards and compliance in our supplier companies.
In response we have joined together in an attempt to deliver a shared, global and sustainable approach for the improvement of working conditions in the global supply chain.

As part of our joint efforts, we undertake to support the Global Social Compliance Programme and its principles and to work collaboratively to the achievement of the programme’s two key objectives:

  • To reduce duplication of effort and accelerate improvement of working conditions by building consensus on best practices and delivering a consistent message to suppliers globally.
  • To work in partnership with suppliers on the continuous improvement of working conditions through training and capacity building activities
