An inventory of in-store food safety requirements around the world has been established and made available to all members as part of the GFSI knowledge resource centre. The objective is to create a basic framework which can be used as a reference guide by retail companies around the world to ensure continuous improvement and development of in-store food safety practices.
The descriptive research element for this project is now complete with 9 countries surveyed: The Netherlands, France, Germany, Ireland UK and Switzerland, Australia, Mexico and the United States. These countries were selected by CIES to provide a spectrum of approaches to food safety management.
You can download a copy of the full report ‘Food Safety Management by Retailers: A global inventory of In-Store Food Safety Requirement’.
The second phase of the project has assessed the development and maturity of food safety management systems at country level. You can dowload a copy of the full report "Food Safety Management by Retailers: An Assessment of In-Store Food Safety Practices".
